East Side Cafe
The East Side Café is the latest addition to Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park. It was relocated from its previous location in Henderson.
The Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park’s East Side Café has quite a history to share. Not only has it been moved four times and literally sliced in the middle to widen, but it was first used as a horse barn for country school children. It then became home to the Henderson Hatchery, Heinrichs Shoe Repair, East Side Café, Bergen Insurance, and finally, a rental property.
Due to its downtown business history, the East Side Café features artifacts and items from various businesses in and around Henderson. Businesses highlighted are a barber shop, shoe repair, medical doctor’s office, dentist office, jewelry repair, and café. Thanks to Dorthie Randles's donation of the building, it will live its final years as a unique, historic structure resting on the park’s 8 ½ acres.
